Psychotherapy

Our approach to psychotherapy is unique and eclectic. We work with the entire family to provide education and understanding, skill building, support, and structure. We know that having a child with extra needs can be stressful for every member of the family. Through a thorough interview and assessment process we determine which types of therapy are most appropriate and often offer a combination of methods. We provide individual and family therapy, parent consultation, and sibling support. We approach intervention by first identifying the root of the problem and working from there. We then collaboratively determine what will best allow for progress. This approach often involves teaching parents a new way to understand their child, coaching parents in how to restructure the environment, helping each member of the family build new skills, as well as cognitive social approaches and behavioral techniques. Our goal is emotional regulation for all members of the family.
